MW à FM – migration to ‘extended’-band, results
BRAZIL
The stations that operated on medium waves in Brazil and that joined the FM migration program (to the so-called ‘extended’ band - from 76.1 to 87.9 MHz), at the time of this change, received government authorization to continue broadcasting on medium waves for another 5 years, in a parallel programming with the FM frequency received. Others changed radically, completely extinguishing their medium wave station. There were also those that changed their name when migrating. Finally, still during the period of the change, some new stations appeared (both on the previous FM band and on the ‘extended’ band), which did not come from medium waves, with new proposals and programming.
