.. 1560 Radio Luz del Mundo, La Paz - in Spanish, Feb. 28 at 0046-0054. A biblical message from a church. The preacher mentioned 'the Word of God... in the name of Jesus' (in Spanish). S=7. ** This station has been listened again, with a good reception here in South Eastern Brazil. 

BRAZIL

.. 1000 kHz: Radio Record, São Paulo SP - Mar. 01. After 97 uninterrupted years of radio broadcasting to a large part of Brazilian territory, this station officially ended its activities on medium waves, and following the national program for migrating medium wave stations to FM, will henceforth operate only on FM 77.1 São Paulo. This opens up an important space for new experimental researches. Immediately, Radio 1000 AM from Asunción, Paraguay, arrived with a good signal, and the presence of two other carriers was also detected. Furthermore, a few moments of audio from a Christian station, also on 1000 kHz, were heard. Based on previous experience, it is presumably BBN Radio, Santiago, Chile. From now on, there will be a focus of attention on these two carriers.

Stations heard in Ibiuna SP, BRAZIL #462

*** Starting at 2300 UTC, here in southern/southeastern Brazil, many Spanish-language medium-wave stations can be heard every night. On almost every medium-wave frequency, at least one Spanish-language station can be heard. 

Even where there are frequencies with signals from Brazil, those from other countries can be heard by applying a slight rotation of a loop antenna. 

Not only are we hearing stations from Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, but now we also receive medium-wave stations from Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and not infrequently from the United States, Cuba, and others in the Caribbean region without much difficulty. 

We are returning to a reality experienced in the 1960s. The Brazilian stations, for the most part, have left the medium waves (migrating to FM), and in those that are still on the air, it is noticeable that they are operating with reduced power until their extinction. 

In the matter of being listeners of medium waves, we cease to be merely Brazilian citizens and become considered South American citizens!!! (Rudolf Grimm).

A significant carrier at 4895 kHz (observed on both the Icom IC-R75 and our Kiwi SDR), extremely weak signal, with a male voice and a typical music being perceptible. No reference to this transmission on 4895 kHz on EiBi or AoKi, but a positive data is presented in WRTH 2026, page 715, as an occasional transmission, under test (status:  end of 2025). As I stated above, just a tentative to be this station. S=1 / S=2.
