B24 RECEPTIONS – The first days
These are the first receptions on the first three days of the B24 period in São Bernardo SP, southeastern Brazil (October 27, 28 and 29), and it can be seen that there are several new features, highlighting the radical change in the frequencies/retransmission locations of Adventist World Radio.
Unlike what some uninformed sources mentioned a few days ago, that AWR would end its shortwave services on October 27, there was a change in their services, which were transferred to the facilities of Guam (KSDA AWR, Agat). See some of these situations below, under ‘GUAM’, and which were tuned in during these three days.
A simple check on the HFCC worldwide schedule and frequency information board shows that Guam began the October 27 (B24) period with almost three times more the amount of services it offered through its facilities in the previous period (A24). It was a well-planned migration so that many of the people who were accustomed to listening to its programs would not have their favorite receptions cut off.
What was also noted is that several shortwave stations, when changing some of their frequencies for the B24 period, used the same frequencies and schedules that were used in the B23 period. This strategy is interesting. From B23 to A24, a severe change, and now the return to several frequencies used in the B23 period.

CHILE
1100 kHz: BBN Radio, via Viña del Mar, Spanish, 19/10 0309. Christian songs, talk by OM. 25432. *This station is often heard here in southeastern Brazil, after 0230 UTC, completely free of QRM from Brazilian and even South American stations. Some time ago, using a RGP3 ferrite loop antenna (homemade by Rene Passold, a great radio friend), while in Ibiuna, outside the great metropolis of São Paulo, it was possible to hear two BBN stations on the same frequency: 1100 kHz Viña del Mar-Chile, and by rotating the RGP3 antenna (ferrite loop) very slowly, the signal from Viña del Mar gradually disappeared, ‘zeroing’ it, but when continuing with the very slow rotation, a new signal from BBN Radio came in. From the angles applied to the loop in this experiment, the second signal received was from Bogotá, Colombia (tentative). Reporting this experiment to BBN Radio, they confirmed the existence of these two distinct signals, which transmit the same original programming.
